A Robot is Born!
Our new robot was “born” around noon on Saturday. It moved; in fact, Jimmy sat on it and drove it around Lafayette. It is very agile and seems to be quite sturdy. I’m sure that’s because there is NO wood on it! We finally got the program working and the electrical bugs worked out, thank heavens.
The ramp has been built and attached and the mechanism to lower it has been installed. Mike Solomon is working on programming to be able to operate the ramp from the interface.
We have a new mentor - Andy Hereford, who was a great help on devising a mechanism to lower the ramp. Ryan Steege was a great help and Marshall showed up, too!
The schedule this week is back to normal, with Mon - Thurs nights from 5:30 until 8; Saturday, from 8:30 until 3. We are aiming to test the robot at Gateway on Saturday. If we need another meeting, it will have to be on Monday, during the day, since the robot has to be shipped on Tuesday. It’s getting very close!
